Jack Comes to Visit... Again...

Another Saturday rolls around and guess who shows up at my house again. That's right: Jack. This time Uncle Michael had to "go to a wedding out of town" but I think he's just making things up now. So Jack had to stay with us on Saturday until Sunday.

Being good...for now.

I was cordial. I even shared my beloved clear Nylabone with him for crying out loud!

Me being a good host.

Did I get a single "thank you" from Jack? No I did not!

For some reason, Jack wasn't liking me that day. Maybe he could sense my animosity, I don't know. But I was minding my own business three different times, and he attacked! Luckily my Mom (barely) kept her sh#% together and got the lunatic off of me before any damage was done!

She gave us some Shut Up Sticks and we were cool.

Mom, when is this a-hole going home?

I'll just avoid eye contact.

Mom says for being so vicious that Jack is "awfully sweet." I beg to differ, personally.

I guess trying to kill a sweet innocent pug takes a lot out of the jerk, because he slept a whole lot.

Uncle Michael came to get him on Sunday and to my former-friend Cousin Jack, I say good riddance! Mom says Aunt Becky the Dog Whisperer is going to have to come and "deal with" us since supposedly we are going to have to be around each other a lot. He's even going to be at my Grandparents' house when we go visit! He's probably going to even try to horn in on MY Christmas! Oh this is trouble.

Happy 3rd Barkday to Me!!

Three years ago today the world was graced with my presence!!

I wish my Mom had some pictures of me when I was undoubtedly an adorable puppy but alas, she doesn't because I just came to live with her 6 months ago. She sure is making up for lost time with her silly camera though, always in my face.

You again?

This is the first time I've celebrated a birthday so I didn't know what it was all about. Since my birthday is on a Tuesday we didn't do a big party like I wanted! But I got to hang out with my Mom which is my favorite thing anyway! And I got presents! Hooray!

I loooove Nylabones! I got the blue nubby one from this pack early, shhhhh.

I'm a big baseball fan so this one might be my new favorite.

First step, prop in easy-chew position.

Second step: sniff for any hints of scent. Success, bacon!

Third step: get to chewin'!

Mom decided to treat me to a stuffed toy for my birthday even though she knows I can't be trusted with them.

Meet Mr. Giraffe.

The photo above may appear like I'm being calm. Tricked you! This was just me taking a rest after flinging him back and forth with my head for five straight minutes.

Still resting.

Now let's get down to business. This guy was destroyed within five minutes of first chew. I don't know why my Mom won't just let me eat all of the stuffing like I want to. It's my birthday for crying out loud!!

After an appetizer treat of a few strands of Mr. Giraffe stuffing, I got my real treat! Watermelon! It's my favorite and it's about the only thing Mom gives me since apparently I'm "morbidly obese."

Now in dog world, I've heard that when you turn three years old, you're legal. I'm still waiting for my first beer. What gives, Mom?? Let's walk up to Tower Pub and have a nightcap!

Please??

I don't know how you expect to ever meet a man when you're always hanging out with me and denying me my adult beverages!

Bath Time ... Bah Humbug

Usually my mom takes me to Miss Mary Catherine at Muttropolitan Groomers for my bath and nail clipping. But once in awhile in between she says I get too "ripe" to wait for that. Is she insulting me? Nah, surely not.

Ah, that looks refreshing! A big water bowl!

Whoa! It was all fun & games til you said I had to get IN. What have you done with Miss Mary Catherine??

Mom says I'm really good in the bath. I don't mind it so much but don't tell Mom. I have a reputation to maintain. That's why I make this sad face:

But I DO mind what comes next! The towel!! I hate that towel!

This time though, because "it's so freakin' hot" according to Mom, I just got to go outside for awhile to get dried off instead of getting blown on by that awful thing Mom uses when she gets out of the shower. I like this hot weather!

OK, full disclosure, I did hold a tiny grudge for a little while after the bath and ignored Mom. That's what she gets for THE TOWEL.

So as payback I laid on the back of the sofa, which is my favorite spot. I love ruining her cushions!

Now my Mom is butting in to tell you that she found 2 four-leaf clovers in a 10 day period while taking me outside. I don't see the big deal but supposedly they're hard to find. I don't see anything special here.

Found 6/12/10

The top one is dead, found 6/2/10 (my Mom's birthday!). She hasn't learned to press clovers like her Grandma Ruby did when Mom was little!

That's all for now, people! It's time to get rid of this laptop so I can lay on my Mom properly! Rumor has it that my cousin Jack is coming to stay with us again on Saturday. Whew, can't I get a break??

My Mom is Old

A couple of weeks ago was my Mom’s birthday! So to celebrate, that weekend she had a big birthday party and her friend Veronica came to stay with us from Kansas City. Veronica has a dog too, but luckily she left him at home! I need to catch up on my alone time, people! Enough dogs. I want to be the center of attention, don’t you know this about me?

The day of Mom's party it was really hot, so we all just laid around a lot in the air conditioning before they LEFT ME FOR THE WHOLE NIGHT.

It's hard out here for a pug.

Please don't go, Mom! If you stay I promise not to sneeze on you for the whole night!

I love Veronica! I met her one time before. When she comes to visit she sleeps on the sofa and I always try to sleep there with her but Mom scoops me up like a baby and takes me to bed with her instead.

Don’t get so jealous, Mom! You know you’re my favorite, right?

And here's my Mom out on the town WITHOUT ME!

Alright, alright, I guess she can have a free night for her birthday. But let's not make a habit of it okay?

Or I'll have to get tough.

When they came back from the party, I got to stay up late and celebrate with a cigar. OK, it wasn't really a cigar, it was a chewy boney thing, but it makes me look pretty cool, right?

You know what’s coming soon, don’t you? That’s right, people! MY BIRTHDAY!! I will be three years old on June 22! My mom’s birthday is June 2 – she thinks that’s some kind of sign or something. I tell her she’s reaching.

Summer in the City

It's HOT in St. Louis in the summertime! I don't know if you've noticed but my face is kind of flat. I can't help it but I think that's one of the things that makes me so "incredibly adorable" (I don't mean to keep bragging but I just tell it like I hear it). Some of us have to make sacrifices to be beautiful. Just ask all of those skinny models who don't get to eat.

But my flat face makes it kind of hard for me to breathe sometimes and especially when it's hot outside! Why do you think I snort so much?? So my favorite thing in the summer are ICE CUBES! My mom gives me ice cubes or puts them in my water bowl whenever we've been outside in the hot for very long. I love 'em!

Thanks Mom!

DEEE-LISH!

Don't you even think about taking away my ice cube!

All gone!

Spring is Here!

Finally Spring came and I could go on walks! I have a great neighborhood in the city for walking. There are always lots of people out and, as I may have mentioned, everyone loves me!

Mom took me to my favorite Miss Mary Catherine to get an Oatmeal bath and get my nails clipped (which I hate!!) and she gave me a nice Easter collar. Of course that meant Mom had to get out the camera.

So I stuck my tongue out at her.

This is the look I give Mom when I'm done with the camera.

Springtime in St. Louis means ONE THING - Baseball! So guess what my Mom did for Opening Day. You guessed it, she dressed me up. It's a good thing I'm such a patient boy because this was just a little much, don't you think? I mean, of course I'm a Cardinals fan, but I think I can show my team spirit in other ways! Like barking, maybe??

Alright, I'll give it to you - I look adorable. Okay, okay.

But that's enough pictures.

I also got to go over to my Aunt Becky's for what she and Mom call "Obedience Happy Hours." I don't know what that means but I do know that I met two big dogs named Rojo and Cracker Jack. At first Rojo wasn't sure about me but I charmed her just like I charm everyone!

Me, Rojo (red) and Cracker Jack (black)

My Mom calls Aunt Becky the Dog Whisperer. But I call her the Treat Whisperer.

Aunt Becky went in the house and we just KNEW she was coming back with treats! So we waited patiently.

Plotting world domination.

I also got a new toy. He's a pig. Mom says she thinks pigs and pugs are related but I think that's an insult! I don't stew in my own filth, Mom!

Mom had to take my pig away after not long though because I have a bad habit of chewing off ears. She's so uptight!
